All because of the powerful roots and impressive lengths of spreading branches, sky-high trunk and unusual flowers that make the tree almost mystical.Mayan people believed in its extraordinary power, The Ceiba, or “ya’axché”, symbolised to the Maya civilisation an “axis mundi" which connects the planes of the Underworld and the sky with that of the terrestrial realm. We found in it a source of the ingredient that allowed us to give our cosmetics unprecedented lightness. The ripe fruit of the kapok tree, releases seeds covered with soft, extremely light and resilient pappus, which is resistant to water. It used to be used to fill life jackets (hence the name kapok). We micronised it and closed it in our newest matting powder. Kapok Tree Powder is a powder that provides long lasting matte effect.
